Exam Meeting Types

Exam records are meetings of course section offerings.  As with all section meetings, exam meetings have a meeting type attribute.  However, exam meeting types are automatically generated when exam types are configured and associated with course meeting types.  The system recognizes distinct combinations of exam type and course meeting type and creates exam meeting types that are associated with exams and may be used to create exam-specific room scheduling preferences.

 

For example, if an exam type of "Final Exam" is created and associated with a LEC course meeting type, then an exam meeting type called "LEC/Final Exam" is created by the system.  Any exam meeting generated for "Final Exam" for a LEC course will have a meeting type of "LEC/Final Exam".  Additionally, "LEC/Final Exam" may be used in room scheduling preference sets to create exam meeting type-specific room scheduling preferences.
